System Description
1. Application Software
A Windows based application software provides:
• Unit Register function will let users to register a Zigbee units a legal component in the system. The function will automatically detect the units connected to the system, and guide users to sign the units up into system. Only registered units can be displayed and managed by the system.
• Network Construction function is one of the most unique features that ASMS provides. With Zigbee's network construction abilities, the system forms a star or a tree network automatically or as users specified. Versalinks Proprietary 802.15.4 based networking software enables Versa Router devices to manage the network communication and traffic routing efficiently.
• Monitor function provides both real time network monitoring features and historical playback features. Users may select to use either a dynamic network formed automatically by individual routers, or a static network formed by fixed routers. Mobile terminals are placed on monitoring objects, and will be contacted periodically by routers. Any disconnected terminal will be reported promptly as an alarm at a different level. Connected with sensors, the system will report alarm triggered by the events as defined by users.
• GIS Map is another unique feature which ASMS offers to our users. Users may load either GIS map data or other layout map data. The system features complete map navigation functions. Users may easily place or locate the devices on the map, and at the same time view the objects and feedback data at real time location.
2. Hardware Devices
• Coordinator is a central controller which manages communication from routers or terminals, and coordinates network ttraffic.
• Router is a network transmitter, and acts as a relay between Routers, Coordinators and Terminals.
• Terminal is a light device. It usually acts as a mobile monitor with battery powered.
Support
• In order to support the application more efficiently, a static network with fixed routers is suggested.
• Before the devices can be connected to the system, they must first be registered. Once registered, users are able to set some basic settings.
• When coordinator is on, the system will automatically detect registered devices and display the network topology. If the system has GIS map data loaded, users may place or locate the devices at a proper position on the map.
• The real time feedback data is displayed on the screen. Based on the alarm set, the system will set off the alarm event.
