System Description

1. Application Software
A Windows based application software provides:
• Unit Register function lets users to register a Zigbee units as a legal component in the system. The function will automatically detect the units connected to the system, and guide users to sign the units up into the system. Only registered units can be displayed and managed by the system.
• Network Construction function is one of the most unique features that Versa WSN provides. All devices within communication range will automatically form a network. The system also supports the features of reforming the network in case that the connection is lost. Versalinks Proprietary 802.15.4 basednetworking software lets Versa Router devices manage the network communication and traffic routing efficiently.
• Monitor function reports sensor's data from all devices in the network at real time. System also offers historical playback features. Users may define the sensor port and parameters. Versalinks's Development Suite allows users to customize the application and user interfaces easily and quickly.
• Security is another important feature that Versa WSN offers. Versa WSN has security checking, and authentication features to ensure data transmit safely.
• If users define alarm events in the system, alarm will be set off when the events are triggered on site.

2. Hardware Devices
• Coordinator is a central controller which manages communication from routers or terminals, and coordinates network traffic.
• Router is a network transmitter, and acting as a relay between Routers, Coordinators and Terminals.
• Terminal is a light device. It usually acts as a mobile monitor with battery powered
• External sensors are connected to Routers or Terminals through DIO or AIO ports provided on the devices. A 232 serial port is also available on the device for any standard industrial sensor communication.

Support
• System needs to register all devices first before they can be connected. Users may set some basic settings when devices are registered. After registering, the system will only monitor those registered devices.
• When coordinator is on, the system automatically detects registered devices and display devices on the map. Users may set sleep time, or transmit power, and other parameters which are saved on the device permanently.
• User should define the parameters to be monitored from sensors and provide with conversion method. Standard monitor data includes all data transmitted from 232, data from DIO, and data from AIO.
